Back to Work Press Release
ARC Cancer Support Centres is organising a talk on this increasingly important topic, titled simply “Returning to Work after Cancer” on Tuesday, 24th September at its centre in Eccles Street from 5.30pm to 7.30pm.
The talk will be given by Angela Buckley, a counsellor and psychotherapist, whose day job involves working as a learning and training project manager with a multinational company. Angela also happens to be a wedding and funeral consultant. She will be joined by Valerie McArdle, from Tullyallen, Co. Louth, who will share her own personal experience of cancer and the steps she took before returning to work. (See Valerie’s story attached).
The talk is open to all those who have been diagnosed with cancer and who are wondering about the next steps in getting back to their new reality following cancer treatment and open to employers and others interested in exploring this experience from the employee perspective, to see how the world of work can better assist, nurture and give practical help to those affected.
