We provide care and support to people recently diagnosed, are in treatment, finished treatment, or caring for a loved one with cancer, providing survivorship programmes, complementary therapies, counselling and drop-in services. Founded in 1994, our services are confidential, professional, and caring, and are provided free of charge across our three Centres located close to the major oncology hospitals in Dublin, and via our online remote service.
Role Overview:
We are seeking a highly organised and versatile Marketing and Digital Communications Specialist who takes a holistic approach to marketing, with a focus on leading and implementing ARC’s marketing strategies and fundraising campaigns to:
- connect and raise awareness with clients, service users and the wider community
- strengthen our online presence
- support transformational fundraising income required to address rising service demands and to achieve our vision of helping all those affected by cancer who need our services
- ensure a consistent and compelling brand message across all channels.
- grow donor and stakeholder engagement and retention through targeted communications and relationship-building initiatives.
This role will report to the Head of Fundraising and Communications, but also work very closely with the Head of Services to ensure we significantly improve our profile with clients, donors and other relevant stakeholders and to drive revenue. The purpose will also be to drive engagement, awareness, and participation in fundraising initiatives and in our services offerings. This position requires aninnovative, data-driven professional who can align marketing initiatives with ARC’s needs to increase brand awareness and maximise retention rates of donors. The purpose of this is to ensure a strong and sustainable income stream through innovative and effective campaigns to reach more people affected by cancer who wish to use our services.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute an integrated marketing, awareness, and digital strategy and annual plans and budgets to achieve organisational goals, enhance brand awareness, foster trust, and engage key audiences.
- Manage digital presence and engagement, including social media, website updates, follower interaction, and response to queries, ensuring alignment with ARC’s overall strategy.
- Oversee the digital creative development process, managing campaigns from concept to execution, ensuring they inspire action, deepen supporter engagement and amplify our mission.
- Maintain brand consistency across all communications, safeguarding ARC’s visual identity, tone of voice, and messaging in all brand expression activities.
- Create and oversee compelling marketing content across digital and traditional channels, including social media, email, website, print materials, and reports. Ensure messaging aligns with ARC’s values and mission.
- Plan and assist execution of multi-channel fundraising and awareness campaigns (including ATL, BTL, digital, and experiential) to drive donor engagement, meet income targets, and promote initiatives like Torch of Hope and Dip in the Nip.
- Promote ARC Services to new audiences.
- Contribute to donor stewardship through regular impact updates, storytelling, and relationship-building initiatives.
- Monitor, analyse, and report on awareness, marketing and fundraising performance, using data-driven insights to refine strategies, improve ROI, and measure impact on brand perception and audience engagement.
- Support the planning and execution of key organisational and fundraising events through comprehensive marketing, PR, and public engagement strategies to drive participation.
- Collaborate with internal teams and external partners to ensure consistent, high-quality marketing and communications.
- Oversee the marketing budget for fundraising & services, ensuring campaigns are executed efficiently, maximising impact while staying within financial constraints.
Essential Skills and Experience:
- 2-3 years’ experience in a marketing, fundraising and digital communications.
- Proven expertise in digital marketing, content creation and brand management.
- Proven experience in developing and executing successful digital campaigns, ideally within the charity or non-profit sector.
- Strong copywriting and storytelling abilities, with a track record of engaging diverse audiences.
- Experience working with digital marketing tools and AI-driven technologies relevant to the role.
- Ability to develop relationships with stakeholders, donors and corporate partners.
- Strong analytical skills with experience using data to drive decision-making.
- Excellent project management skills, with the ability to manage workload across the two main departments of ARC, i.e. services and fundraising/communications.
- Third level qualification in Marketing, Digital Marketing, Communications, Digital Media, or a related field.
Desirable Skills and Experience:
- Knowledge of brand and market development from the Not-For-Profit sector.
- Knowledge of compliance requirements related to charity fundraising and data protection.
- Experience managing social media, SEO, and email marketing campaigns for fundraising.
- Graphic design skills or experience working with creative agencies to produce digital campaign materials.
- Familiarity with CRM systems and donor management platforms.
